We loved our stay at Hotel San Carlu Citadelle! The location is perfect, right in the city center and within walking distance to all the main historic sights, restaurants, shops, and even the beach. The highlight for us was the beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant with amazing views over the bay and city — we really enjoyed drinks at sunset and a delicious breakfast there each morning. The service was outstanding, everyone was so welcoming and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms are a bit small, which can be a challenge with luggage, but the bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. Overall, a charming hotel with unbeatable location, great service, and a rooftop you won’t forget. We would definitely recommend it for a stay in Ajaccio!

I spent an amazing week at the San Carlu hotel with my daughter. It is beautiful recently renovated hotel in the heart of Ajaccio. The stuff were always smiling and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I am vegan, and anyway I was able to find fresh and tasty products for myself. The terrace has a breathtaking view. Rooms always clean. I recommend this hotel in 100%

Fantastic location close to the marina and boat tours to one side and the long beach promenade with more restaurants to the other side. Beautiful view. Really nice restaurant on the top floor. All staff in reception and restaurant were lovely and helpful. The hotel is stylish and cosy at the same time, a perfect blend. Very nice room, loved the bath robe and the bathroom amenities - there was everything you needed in the room.

Location was unparalleled, with access to the Rue de Rio where excellent nightlife and restaurants were, and a couple blocks from the town beach. Room provided every comfort you could want, which was why we loved it there. Extra pillows, a bottle of water and cups, a sewing kit, shampoo and body gel, a very comfy bed, a ready closet, adjustable A/C, a fantastic shower with two varieties of heads, a nice TV, the option of breakfast (which we did not take). The staff was so welcoming and friendly! At their encouragement, we went upstairs for a look at the view and it was incredible!! Too bad we didn't eat there or have more than just one night.

Great location - plenty of bars and restaurants around the corner. Helpful staff. Room was spotless and a great view. Bathroom was a great size. Had a great roof too bar with a view of the water where breakfast was served.

Cala di Sole is a classic beach getaway friendly for couples and families. The salt water pool deck is great for catching some sun and relaxing. The private sand beach is set in an exclusive cove typically with a paillote serving the customers. The cocktails, food and desserts set the standard of care for excellence among Corsican dining and libations. The setting is totally idyllic and just a stones throw to Ajaccio. The sunrise and sunset over the bay with the iles Sanguinaires is picture perfect. Come if you dare. You may never want to leave.

We only stayed here for one night but wished we had booked more. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was beautiful. With a great little terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel has a lovely pool, it’s own beach and a very decent restaurant. I couldn’t fault it, we’d definitely stay again if we visit Corsica.

Although rated as a 3 stars, this hotel is more in the 4 star category. The privilege room we had selected was very large and very tastefully decorated, with a large bathroom and balcony with a great view. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and the on-site facilities such as the pool and beach, very nice.

The apartment was very spacious and comfortable, we loved the pool and pool bar , the staff at reception and in the pool bar were excellent.

Bright, airy and very clean appartment with a lovely view of the sea. Large and very comfortable bed with quality bedding. Plenty of fluffy towels plus pool towels provided upon request. Excellent soundproofing and air conditioning. Cable TV and good WIFI connection. Lots of parking on site. Small-ish heated pool and attractive sunbathing terrace. On a bus route into town if required but very nice to walk into town around the coast. Supermarkets within easy reach. Very professional, helpful and friendly staff.

Very friendly staff. The pool was still warmed in early October. Lots of free parking space! We drove around the island during daytime and returned to the hotel in the evening. There was always space to park and the hotel was easy to get to by car from any direction. Room was spacious. The hotel restaurant was nice with different options for dinner. The distance from the room to the water is probably less than 200m. The beach is very nice, with clear warm water, (not super-fine, but still nice) yellow sand and surprisingly few people (in mid-July at least). Book the beachfront tables in the onsite restaurant for dinner - those offer an amazing seaside atmosphere. You can do pilates on the lawn in the mornings (12 EUR per session, offered by some independent coach). Some evenings there's live music in the restaurant.

Excellent base for a few days at the beach. Staff were friendly & helpful, rooms very clean. The breakfast was fresh & very good value. Excellent for families or a couples break.

Quite, isolated place. At the end of the season, the beach was almost empty. Clear, clean water, nice place to rest and recharge. The room modern, clean, large, with terase, Very good food at the restaurant (e.g. very good pizza, even more delicious than at pizzeria), big portions, very good value for the money. A lot of free parking places. Charger for e-autos, a very good price.

The room and bathroom and very spacious, and look like newly refurbished (with style). The porch offers a great sea view while chillaxing. Direct access to a beautiful beach that feels almost private. The restaurant that offers an amazing view is highly recommended: excellent food.

The location is very convenient to go the Parata Pointe (25mn) and watch the sunset on the Sanguinaires Islands. Breakfast was good and the patio relaxing. There is very easy access to public beach and to 2 nice restaurants. We did not use the pool but the pool area looked very relaxing the gardens with its pine trees and shade a great place for reading and napping. A great spot that we unfortunately enjoyed only for 1 night

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly clean, with an amazing view from the balcony. The pool area and garden were beautifully maintained — truly a highlight of our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

This hotel is really lovely with very clean and comfortable rooms and all of the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. The quadruple room is great for families with kids. The pool area and gardens are beautiful and there is beach access directly across the road. There are nice restaurants within walking distance and the hotel breakfast was delicious. This is a good location for exploring Ajaccio - you can get the bus into the city centre from just outside the hotel if you prefer not to drive. I'd love to go back and see a little more of this part of Corsica.

Beautiful old hotel particuliar in the center of the tourist core yet incredibly quiet (my room was on the courtyard) and secure. Room was modern and enormous by european standards with a very large and comfortable bed and a huge TV with Canal +. Very large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Coffee, shampoo, bar soap and body wash were provided but body lotion and Robe/slippers were available on demand. It would have been a nicer touch had they been present in the room at check-in. The young woman at the desk was efficient and helpful. The room could easily accommodate a couple for an extended stay.

It was such a nice hotel in the centre of Ajaccio. A short walk from shops, bars, restaurants, the harbour, and the beach. Super reception from Lisa, who was so friendly and helpful in explaining everything and dealing with the car. I know it was extra but a definite boon on a holiday weekend. We loved our room with its small balcony and the hot tub. What a luxury...so fortunate during such a super hot week.

Excellent Hospitality. Make you feel at home away from home. Very professional management and staff. Private Valet parking is very convenient in a pedestrian street . Location is perfect for strolling around the city close to the beach , citadelle , restaurants and other attractions. Always helpful are Lisa and Thibaud with perfect knowledge of the city and its history.

The hotel offers valet, on-site parking (at a charge) - essential in this historic centre of town where on street parking is highly regulated and time limited. Very helpful and friendly staff. We liked the property very much. It is very clean and the towels are changed every day. The hotel is very closed to both the city center and the beach. The breakfast was good, it is a standard continental breakfast. It was a nice selection of different jams. We would like to recommend the hotel as it is a good value for the price.

It is extremely well situated, spotlessly clean with friendly and helpful staff. There is also an excellent choice of food offered at breakfast. We always stay at this hotel when visiting Ajaccio and highly recommend it.

My son is a big fan of the Napoleon I. and he is so grateful for staying at this place! We enjoyed a location close to the museum just 5min. by walk. We enjoyed not only sleeping in comfortable box- spring beds, but also an interior arrangement, wall art pictures and cushions with the letter N and especially kind and friendly approach of the staff on the reception and breakfast service.

A basic but very comfortable and cute hotel with a swimming pool. Location and setting is very nice. Hotel has a little courtyard with a very nice view. Dinner is very good with a romantic setting and nice view of the beach and coastline.

Ligger 7 km uden for Ajaccio og det er fint. Selve byen er nemlig meget turistet med flere krydstogtskibe. God bustransport lige ved hotellet. Det tager 10 min at komme ind til centrum. Ligger helt tæt på kysten med flot udsigt, og en fin lille sandstrand. Men vælg som os et værelse med "havudsigt og balkon". Mange af de andre værelser så kedelige ud. God stor pool med masser af stole. Lækker restaurant med god mad. Morgenmaden var derimod en kontrast - nærmest elendig. Flere dage manglede både brød og ost.

I really liked the hotel's location, with a beautiful view of the port and easy access to the city center. I booked two rooms: a Privilege Room with pool view and a Classic Room with sea view. The Privilege Room was much larger and more comfortable, and it included a minibar, which the Classic Room did not. Both rooms were modern and clean. The breakfast offered a good variety of options. The rooftop bar was a highlight, offering a fantastic view and a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was very nice.

Stayed there for one night before leaving Corsica. Nice hotel with good facilities. Although pretty close to the highway, you do not hear the cars too much. Short walk to the beach which is convenient. Room was a good size and bathroom was excellent. Pool area is amazing, only hiccup, no washrooms at the pool!! You have to go back inside the hotel through the main door. Not fun when you are in your swimming trunks!

Swimming pool is great. Very nice view overlooking the swimming pool and the sea. Great access to the beach thanks to the tunnel and the train station is just next door to go in town or go to the mountains.

Great hotel. Literally 4 minutes from the airport. Family room was very comfortable and came with access to a huge outdoor terrace. Dinner was brought to the room quickly as we arrived late and breakfast was delicious. Pool good fun.

Could not be better if you are flying back the next day as it's 5 minutes drive from the airport. My room was spacious and over looking the swimming pool - nice and clean. The staff kind and helpful. A bit disappointed with the pasta dish serve in the restaurant: over cooked and quite tasteless but the sweet was great! I will certainly stay there again.

This Hotel is simply superb. It is located just a stones throw away from the busy chaos in central Ajjacio. Wonderful staff fantastic room with a nice sized terrace overlooking the swimming pool and the bay. Despite the busy road that passes the front of the hotel once in the hotel or poolside no noise can be heard. The staff were very friendly and attentive from check in to check out. We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant eating Al alfresco overlooking the bay. Quite simply there was nothing to fault during our 5 night stay. We shall be returning.

Fabulous view, friendly staff, peaceful and private with the best continental breakfast served on our own terrace. The coffee is excellent! The pool perfect.

Amazing pool and private beach. It’s also a slight walk away from central Ajaccio which meant it was pretty peaceful. We did enjoy walking in for dinner on a few nights! The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

Lovely boutique hotel in the old style. Exceptional customer service. Location is just outside of the busy central area which makes it a bit quieter which was appreciated. There are bikes you can borrow if you don't feel like walking the 20-30 minutes along the ocean to the town centre. Pool views the ocean with a small private beach if you want to experience the sand. Restaurant is high-end and doesn't disappoint. As well they have many recommendations for excellent restaurants in the area. The boutique experience of this hotel is well worth the price.

The staff were super friendly and could not have been more helpful when my husband hurt his ankle. The atmosphere was very relaxing and we felt like we could switch off straight away. Great size bathroom and the private terrace was a great bonus. Facilities are wonderful, the pool is great but the private beach location is the icing on the cake. Easy walking distance to the city center.

We stayed for a night, passing through Ajaccio. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of it. The rooms were a little on the cramped side and the hotel feels a little old fashioned, like stepping back into the 70s. The pool was on our floor, much to the children’s delight.

Popular for large travel groups. Very good bakers and pizzeria nearby. Bit of a trek into the old town. Breakfast fairly expensive. Pool OK, a bit run down. Reception staff very helpful, baggagerie etc.Excellent WIFI.

Room was newly refurbished. Only thing missing was a shower curtain! Location was fine for us, it is a 15 min walk from the centre but was a pleasant walk. Staff were helpful and called to reserve a spot for us on a boat trip.

I really liked this place. The hotel was easy to find and the location was excellent. Yes it was a little dated, but both the room and the bathroom were spacious. The staff members were all helpful. We were able to check in an hour early, and the parking I had previously enquired about was available and very close by. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate. The hairdryer was great!!

The people were extremely nice! Upgraded our room, gave us early check-in, kept our bags safe after check-out while we spent the day in town, and offered us all the amenities of the property available to guests even after check-out. Nice and quiet neighbourhood but just a short walk to town!

Two nights in a two week tour round Corsica. Only place to have a kettle in the room, but it also had a kitchen. Nice pool, spacious room, good bathrooms, pleasant staff. Very happy.

Die Unterkunft liegt fußläufig zum Strand. Leider dringen damit auch Abends die Geräusche von den Restaurants und Clubs an der Promenade zum Hotel durch. Wir waren mit der Unterkunft zufrieden, da sie schön zentral an der Westküste liegt und der Standort sich hervorragend für Ausflüge anbietet. Der Poolbereich ist großzügig und die Garage angenehm geräumig.

Great hotel from which to explore Granada, just on the outskirts of the city centre, but only a 10min walk into the city. Really big hotel, very clean, staff very friendly, good buffet breakfast, spacious rooms, great room service (cleaning etc.). Only watch out is the indoor pool is very very small - the pictures online are deceptive. More of a splash pool for kids.

As others have mentioned, the best part is the view - our balcony overlooked the Iles Sanguinaires and had lovely sunsets. Parking is ample and the place is easy to find (although the sign is not large, it's on a main 2-way street). It is out of town a ways, but there is a bus stop literally right out front. We stayed in the off-season and the pool and hot tub were not open (the pool was full of algae - I assume it's cleaned in the summer?). For an apart-hotel, the kitchenette and eating area were small (but with enough space for 4 to eat on the balcony). There is no oven, just a stovetop (hob) and microwave. There is a dishwasher, but nothing (not even a cloth to wash dishes with) is provided except hand soap in the bathroom. There is a very useful tourist information program on a computer in the lobby. There are restaurants close by, but not much for shops (not even a boulangerie).

Hotel looks a bit old but it's clean. More of a family destination than couple destination. Looks a bit rundown though. The wifi in the room was unbelievably slow.

Very basic hotel, new and very clean and tidy, but the room itself is a triumph of fitting everything in. Difficult to move in the loo without pushing the non-cling door open, shower door has a hole for a handle, which leaks water back into the room. The fact that there is no separate bathroom does mean that the shower makes everything a little sweaty for a while. Lighting system is rather more complex and arcane than useful. However, the idea of providing a third bed by putting a bunk up over the double is a particularly interesting use of the space! Overall, the stay was fine, the room did feel a little claustrophobic, but the bed was large and comfortable and everything I needed was there.

Notre séjour à l’hôtel marina viva était très chouette. Comme nous étions entre amis pour 4 jours, nous avons juste pris la chambre qui était assez petite mais correcte et propre avec un balcon. Pas de wifi dans les chambres. A proximité de tous les restos et bars de Porticcio, ce qui est sympa le soir. Le port nous menant directement à Ajaccio est également à proximité. Grand complexe, piscine, plage, restaurant, animation, nous avons aimé notre séjour, cet hôtel vaut ses 3 étoiles.

Les points positifs : - les équipements (piscine, bar, restaurant, accès à la plage) - Le personnel accueillant et souriant - les animations Les points à améliorer : - qualité des literies à revoir absolument - des chambres qui mériteraient une sérieuse rénovation (revêtements qui sont âgés , odeurs de renfermé, ...) - pas de wifi dans les chambres alors que le réseau 3G ou 4G parfois ne passe pas ou mal : donc difficile de passer des appels ou d’être joints.

Close to Ajaccio airport on our way out of Corsica. The rooms spacious and basic, no luxury at all. Staff is friendly but not very tech savvy, it took them 10 minutes to find my reservation! Just spend 6 hours at the hotel before the flight next morning.

Our stay at Sun Beach Hotel was nice but I recommend you head to town for dinner. We haven’t used the pool but saw quite many guests did and seemed to have enjoyed it. There is no close access to the beach or at least we didn’t find it but luckily we had rented a car. Staff are friendly and the room clean and big enough for two.

Nice pool, though could do with a few more sun loungers. It's very basic, but for the very reasonable price offers a very convenient place to stay for a few nights. There's plenty to do nearby as well, with a small beach just down the road, but much better ones just a few hundred metres to the west. Some reviews say the hotel needs updating, but in my view everything worked fine, the staff were very nice, the rooms comfortable, and the air conditioning had been put on full before we arrived.

A little bit out of town. We stayed one night only, before flight back home. A little dated in appearance. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool, 20m long and good deep end. Rooms clean and comfortable. Pleasant outside terrace for breakfast.

Freundliches Personal, man hat sich willkommen gefühlt. Einfaches Hotel, dass etwas renovationsbedürftig ist. Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer könnte noch etwas besser sein, ist aber für südländische Verhältnisse in Ordnung. Die Lage ist Ideal um die Umgebung zu erkunden, die Bushaltestelle befindet sich nur wenige Gehminuten vom Hotel entfernt. Der Pool hat eine super Grösse zum Schwimmen.

This is a very traditional French hotel, no boutique-style fripperies, just a clean, welcoming hotel offering wonderful views and lovely helpful service. The staff were very accommodating when we arrived from a very early flight and we were able to check in at 9am and get straight to the pool. Likewise our early departure (before their front desk opened) was no bother and they called the bakers in order to get the breakfast goods delivered earlier and a table was laid for us early the next morning. Yes, the rooms are dated but they are clean. There's a safe in the wardrobe, a hairdryer in the bathroom and furniture on the balconies. We happened to love the retro tiled bathroom but understand it's not to everyone's taste! It was perfect for our flying visit for a wedding but I would probably choose somewhere a bit more luxurious were we staying longer.

The hotel is perhaps a little dated but the views across the bay to Ajaccio are truly outstanding and the pool area is superb. Our stay was made magical by the cats that populate the grounds and by the herd of wild boar that visited in the evening, overnight and in the morning. We awoke to the grunting sounds of the boar and looked down from our balcony on them snuffling for nuts on the ground. Seeing a family of boar, with three tiny piglets, was especially magical. The staff were friendly. The location, because of the view, was superb. What more could you want? It was very strange, therefore, that there only seemed to be one other room occupied in the hotel on a Friday night in May. Give it a go, if only for the boar and the view!

Spent enjoyable hours looking out at the activities of the port. Daily markets and larger markets on Saturdays. Staff members Anouk and Allane most helpful. Appreciated that Hotel replied promptly to my train schedule questions before arrival. Axel at tourist office helpful with location of the Villa della Rocca where Matisse stayed when in Ajaccio. Address is corner Rue Gabriel Peri and Boulevard Sylvestre Marcaggi. Church of Sacred Heart is opposite. Sign says Villa Allegrini Les Glycines. No plaque to indicate history of Matisse.

The lovely pink hotel is well located near the port and centre ville, and directly across the road from the wonderful Marcatu d’Aiaccu selling fresh gourmet Corsican produce. My room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very helpful with storing luggage, easy check in, providing beach towels etc. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

The view over the port from our bedroom was stunning and looking out on the market was fun too. The close proximity to the ferry port was great for us. The staff were friendly and helpful. Being able to sit outside on the terrace in front of the hotel was very pleasant. Very close proximity to Ajaccio’s main attraction was a huge bonus and also the town’s beach was only a short walk away.

Location is central and within walking distance to sites of interest. Fresh food market across the road open daily until 1pm. Lots of choices for cafes & restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Highly recommend this hotel. All staff are friendly and very helpful. A
